BLOOD DONOR DAY

Teh Medi Vet Collection Team was with us again on February 15th. Ricky, Daisy, Harry (both), Jenny, Safa, Fifi, Romeo, Leigh all gave blood PLUS 2 of our boarding visitors Joker and Freddie. Maz had given blood last time but didn't this time as she was a bit nervous. Pepsi came along but she bled a bit slowly so she got let off - she still had her weetabix after though for being such a good girl. The rest of our retireds were illegible this time because they had just had their ops.

WOW!!!! Guess what, on my holidays in the kennels Sari and Sally took me to see the blood donors, I was rather excited! To tell you the truth I wasn't the least bit scared, because when they shaved my fur it tickled and they were lovely and kind to me as well! Once they'd finished they gave me lots of cuddles and I gave them lots of sloppy kisses, they also gave me a yummy biscuit and some weetabix because I had been so brave.
Now I have a bandage as you can see in the picture, it's not sore Mum and Dad. I promise! Can't wait to see you!

  • Dogs Homed JANUARY - FEBRUARY

SHADOW (Blade Shadow) was homed by Byron & Biddy Reid. They had travelled to Australia for family celebrations over Christmas and New Year so their greyhound BLUE (Compass Pete now 8yrs old) who they adopted 5 years ago stayed with me in the boarding kennels. They asked me if we could find a boy who would be the perfect partner for Blue and without a 'shadow of a doubt' that boy was Shadow.

PEPSI (Prodigy Posh) Formerly known as Posh, Pepsi now lives very happily with Rachel Sunley and Rob Lewis. Since Rachel works in the kennel she had no difficulty deciding who she really loved most and luckily Pepsi loved Rob and her new home also.

LAUREN (Tall Tale) has found a loving home with Lyn & Harry Hughes. She settled in her new home instantly and loves the beautiful woodland walks nearby.

ROLLO (Dance Riolo) Lee & Trevor Keith intended to home 2 greyhounds but Rollo had other ideas. When he and Jenny his partner went to visit he started lording over her a bit so it was decided he would be adopted on his own. He is like the 'cat that got the cream' and has more excitement in store as he will be retiring to Malta at the end of the year. We will follow his journey and settling into his new home.

GRACIE (Watch Gracie) has joined SKYE (1yr old fawn lurcher) & WILLY (8yr old Abbeyfeale Jet). Willy was adopted 2 years ago and Carole & Mike Bunyard felt the need to have another greyhound - that lucky girl was Gracie and she loves her new home. Skye (shown on the sofa here) is still the boss!

CINDY (Maxilla Minotaur) was chosen by Mark & Sharon Dines-Allen to live with their 3 children Bronte, Alice and William. She had to be a special girl to live with JAMES their King Charles/Cocker, 2 cats and the chickens. Sadly TESS (Brinklow Tess) their previous greyhound died last October at the tragically young age of 5.

This is a really fun night run by the Rowlands Cricket Club and also a great fund raiser. WE NEED RACE SPONSORS @ 25.00 per Race and HORSE SPONSORS @ £5.00 each. Money can be posted,dropped in to kennel or collected on night. We still urgently need of RACE/HORSE SPONSORS

This is the first time for this walk. It is hoped Greyhounds will start their walk at 10.00 am across the whole country. We will be walking at Ryton Country Park unless someone comes up with a better venue.

If you wish to make us a donation you can download the appropriate form, complete, then send to Watch Kennels for us to process.
If you wish to Sponsor a greyhound currently in the kennel please complete the form, let us know who you wish to sponsor and we will send you a Sponsorship Certificate. Sponsorship money helps pays for veterinary treatment etc and for the dogs collar, lead coat etc when it is adopted
You can make donations/sponsorship as a one off single payment or regular monthly payments.
