OUR HOMING POLICY

• THE RETIRED GREYHOUND TRUST (RGT) was set up in June 1975, nearly 30 years ago.
• It is the only National Charity solely concerned with the rehoming of ex-racing greyhounds.

As a registered charity (RCN269668) the trust is governed by the Charity Commission. It has a Board of Trustees chaired by Lt.Col. Duncan Green, Director General of Dogs Home Battersea. The Director of the Trust, Ivor Stocker is supported by two full time staff and 3 part timers who work from the offices at Worcester Park, Surrey.

When you contact us we will need to take some details:

Family members, size of garden, fencing, work commitments, other pets etc.
We will also do a home visit at a time to suit you.

This is not to be nosy but to ensure we can find the right dog for your lifestyle. Some will be happy with a busy working couple in town others will prefer a more rural environment, or full time attention. Some will prefer to be the only pet in the house or be happy with a house full of children.

Above all we give you the time to meet our greyhounds. Time and time again we see that magic moment when your new dog chooses you. Other dogs, (and pets) in the family must also have a chance to meet.

You will have the opportunity for a visit at home from the greyhound before the final adoption.
